What we are for
Sapere Aude Greece is an informal youth group dedicated to spreading knowledge and encouraging young people to become active citizens through non-formal education.
Our work focuses on democracy and human rights, gender equality, activism and ecology. We work through workshops, discussions, creative activities and youth-led initiatives.
We believe education should do more than pass on knowledge. It should give young people the confidence to think critically, stand up for their rights, and help build a more inclusive, democratic and sustainable society.
Our story
We prepared two youth exchange applications: Thyme Out: Leaf in the Moment, and FireWatch: Prevention of Fire Hazards.
What we are for
What we stand for
Democracy & human rights
Human rights education and democratic participation. Our members have completed Council of Europe training in human rights education and democratic activism, working with the COMPASS manual.
Gender equality
Workshops on gender equality, gender-based violence and sexual harassment — and learning spaces where everyone gets the same seat in the circle.
Activism
Advocacy, mobilisation and grassroots civic initiatives. We practise public speaking, campaigning and organising, so that young people take action instead of only talking about it.
Ecology
Environmental education and nature-based youth activities that connect what we learn with the places we live in.
How we work
What we run
SA-01 Workshops and discussions
Non-formal learning sessions on democracy, human rights, gender equality and ecology, built on dialogue and creative methods.
SA-02 Erasmus+ youth exchanges and training courses
Our members take part in, and help design, Erasmus+ youth exchanges and training courses that bring young people from different countries together to learn by doing.
SA-03 Youth-led initiatives and campaigns
Awareness-raising activities, campaigns and community initiatives started and run by young people themselves.
